Philips - Sustainability Philosophy
Our mission is to help people turn houses into homes.
However, home is not merely the house we live in.
"Home" is the soil and oceans, the rain and rivers, the air we breathe, and the land beneath our feet. It is the place we all call home – Earth.
To protect our shared home, we design products that are not only durable but can also accompany you for a lifetime.
We are actively transforming, progressing towards the goal of net-zero emissions.
Now, let us join hands to move towards a cleaner, healthier, and safer tomorrow, for our shared home – Earth.
Our Shared Home – Earth
"We are committed to mitigating climate change and taking swift actions based on science."
Our shared home – Earth, is facing a severe climate crisis. We are determined to be part of the solution.
Therefore, we will accelerate the transition towards net-zero emissions, achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, ten years ahead of the Paris Agreement target.
To achieve this goal, we are guided by science, starting with ourselves, by setting science-based carbon reduction targets, transitioning to 100% green energy, and achieving zero waste. Since January 2020, we have reached the goal of zero landfill waste at our manufacturing facility in Varginha, Brazil.
Additionally, we are committed to implementing a circular economy to minimize waste.
Our Products and Services: Not Just for Now, but for a Lifetime
We hope our products can not only be used but reused.
Therefore, we pursue durability and recyclability in product design, making our products lifelong companions.
Our designs not only focus on the present but also look forward to the future.
To achieve a circular economy, we view waste as a new resource, actively utilizing recycled materials and developing recyclable business models to extend the lifecycle of products.
Additionally, we are committed to simplifying packaging. Our new cardboard packaging is made of 100% recycled and 100% recyclable paper, and products are delivered in plastic-free packaging, contributing to environmental protection.
Designing Sustainable Products for a Better Home
For Versuni, innovation means creating high-quality, durable products that can be recycled and reused.
When designing, we consider recycling, repair, and refurbishment to extend product lifecycles. In 2022, we successfully saved over 100,000 kilograms of materials.
From Virgin Plastic to Sustainable Materials
In the home appliance manufacturing industry, plastics have been in demand for their durability, versatility, and lightweight properties.
However, we all know that improperly handled plastics can cause severe environmental pollution.
To reduce environmental impact, Versuni collaborates with global suppliers and recyclers to actively incorporate recyclable materials into our products and packaging, reflecting our commitment to reducing environmental impact.
Through stringent upstream supplier selection, Versuni has successfully transformed over 10,000 products into environmentally friendly choices.
Our goal is to quadruple the use of recycled materials by 2025.
To make products easier to recycle, we are phasing out chemicals such as PVC and BFR.
Simultaneously, we are actively exploring innovative natural alternatives, such as bio-based plastics.
Bio-based plastics are high-performance plastics made from plants or biological materials.
